2012 Fort Dalles Days
Pro Rodeo Queen
Miss Kacie Davidson
When Kacie Davidson was crowned the 2012 Fort Dalles Pro Rodeo Queen it fulfilled a vision she had as a young girl sitting upon a round bale of hay in Temple, Texas.
Born in Hood River, growing up in Texas, returning to The Dalles as a teenager, and attending college in Wyoming has given Kacie a very “down to earth” outlook on life. All this moving was a result of her Mom, Dee Davidson’s career; but it shaped Kacie into the well-rounded young woman we see today.
Horses have always been a very important part of Kacie’s life. She started riding at age 2. Her Uncle Richard “Cowboy” Howard gave Kacie her first filly; which she named Dutchess McQue King, when she was 10 years old. She started groundwork on the filly when “Dutchess” was only 6 months old, and felt much rewarded to finish the training process herself. According to her Mom, horses have always had a calming effect on Kacie.
The traveling to promote the 2012 Fort Dalles Pro Rodeo will bring back fond memories for Kacie; of she and her Mom driving 1000’s of miles to compete in barrel racing, pole bending, and stake races at play days when she was growing up.
Kacie and her favorite gelding, Toby, are looking forward to touring the Northwest promoting the Fort Dalles Pro Rodeo and the city of The Dalles.
